1998 – Win Sein, Birmanie
A few kilometers from Mawlamyine, in Myanmar, lies one of the most monumental figures of the Buddhist world: the reclining Buddha of Win Sein. Stretching nearly 180 meters in length, this sacred colossus transcends its own sheer scale.
The photographer’s gaze lingers not on the whole, but on a fragment — the golden drapery, both monumental and silent, that envelops the divine figure. Below, young novices glide through the light, tiny human presences at the foot of a spiritual giant.
In this rigorous, almost abstract composition, the shimmer of sacred metal enters into dialogue with passing shadows. The image offers a double reading: both architectural testimony and a quest for timelessness.

Pigment inkjet print on Fine Art paper, supplied with Hahnemühle certificate of authenticity.
The print is laminated onto a 2 mm Dibond sheet and mounted in the floating frame to give it visual depth.
The Fine Art print is placed on neutral cardboard, then covered with a 7 cm beveled white mat and anti-reflective, UV-resistant museum glass, before being framed in black aluminum or wood (black, white, oak or wenge).
